About Us

The Murihiku Māori and Pasifika Cultural Trust formed in 2010. We are passionate about contributing to a richer community by celebrating Māori and Pasifika cultures in Murihiku-Southland and surrounding areas. Our Trust has a commitment:

• to uplift and celebrate Māori and Pasifika cultures
• to make Māori and Pasifika cultures accessible to all people
• to provide excellent opportunities for rangatahi and their whānau

We meet these goals through the delivery of our annual highly successful Polyfest Cultural Festival, Polyfest Art Exhibition and Community Projects and a range of workshops that bring leading Māori and Pacific artists, dancers, writers, sculptors and more to our region to work alongside our young people. We facilitate a range of high quality events that immerse people of all cultures in Maori and Pasifika culture and arts. These events are designed to foster participation, build connections and embrace diversity between different communities. Our Trust is proud that our events support a range of cultures to be visible, affirmed and part of everyday life in our community.
